Michael was a Neuro-oncology in vivo Research Scientist at Seattle Children's for nearly 8 years. He was one of the lead neurosurgeons for murine models, published in the world's top journals, and helped start over 15 clinical trials for pediatric oncology patients. In tandem with his day job, Michael also worked at the Pacific Science Center Butterfly House over the weekends. The flora and fauna were outstanding and created a spark of curiosity in plants and conservation. In Japanese, Mizu Mori means "Water Forest". Starting as a passion project from an apartment, Mizu Mori now provides both aquatic and terrestrial plants for all hobbyists and collectors, while sharing his cultural heritage as a third generation Japanese American owned business. Michael was awarded "Best in Education" by the Spokane Orchid Society in 2025. He continues to give talks at societies and colleges, leads hands-on workshops, is a sales rep for a major exporter based in Thailand, and is a recognized leader in the U.S. plant community. Mizu Mori has been a vendor at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show, Boise Flower & Garden Show, Pacific Northwest Reptile Show, Show Me Reptiles, MAUM Market, and more. |
"I am truly thankful for my family, fiancee (+ Kuma), friends, business partners, and of course my beloved customers. Your support has been tremendous and without you all, I would not be able to do what I love to do. I hope to continue providing quality products with excellent service for years to come!" - Michael (澄 - Kiyoshi)
